ULTRASONIC WAVE

ULTRASONIC WAVE

Ultrasonic refers to sound waves with frequencies too high for the human ear to hear. Generally, the average human ear can only hear sounds up to about 15 kHz, but younger individuals may be able to hear higher frequencies. Therefore, the term ultrasonic usually refers to sound waves with frequencies above 20 kHz; the maximum frequencies are not specified.
